WIN Transition Buyer - Full-time

SCOPE

The Win Transition Buyer generally acts as the liaison between the quote, tactical buyers, and the customer for assigned start-up/NPI jobs until the job is ready for sustained purchasing supporting Vexos Asia start-up jobs for customers located in North America. This critical position reports to the SVP, Global Supply Chain.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and collect current quote and customer bills of materials and customer approved manufacturers (AVL).

  • Prepare a report, mostly in Excel, to identify the on-hand, on-order quantities, and due dates. Identify risk parts for further discussion.

  • Support Asia sites purchasing activities related to assigned start-up jobs including entering PO’s.

  • Place purchase orders, expedite, calculate PPV for components on the BOM.

  • Access the distribution channel, independent channel, direct manufacturers, customer sourced inventories, Vexos sites to located inventory required for desired start-date.

  • Participate in customer material discussions. Provide real-time status updates to the Customer, Program Manager, Director of Sales and Director of Purchasing.

  • Coordinates all related activities to the purchase of NPI quantities and start-up quantities.

  • Utilize online tools as well as CalcuQuote to determine availability of components. Contact Independent Distributors for quotes and work with Component Engineering to identify alternates if needed.

  • Tracking of initial POs with delivery dates, PPV and schedule changes. Determines a Can-build date based on best material availability.

 

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Experience working with electronic components in EMS or Distribution.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Comfortable multi-tasking and able to deliver results under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a very fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Expert Excel skills & other Microsoft applications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, materials, business, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with purchasing electronic commodities preferably in a manufacturing environment – a must.

  • Solid understanding of MRP and how demand is derived.

  • Bilingual English - Chinese strongly preferred.

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours to support multiple time zones.
