Senior Director of Business Development, Material Services

 

SUMMARY

The Senior Director of Business Development will be focused on the Material Services business and their primary responsibility is the overall growth of the Vexos Material Services worldwide business. Initially, this person will be charged with expanding and detailing the Go-to-Market strategy, but also full coordination of the Material Services team across the Vexos business. This role reports directly to the Senior VP of Sales and Marketing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Grow the Material Services (MS) business

  • Enhance and drive adherence to the MS Go-to-Market strategy

  • Interface between the Vexos Sales/BD team located worldwide but with the majority currently in North America and the Material Services Sourcing/PM team who reside and work primarily in China.

  • Implement and supplier adherence of Vexos quality systems and processes across all Material Services providers

  • Interface and coordinate the solution and resolution management with customer’s key contacts and Vexos business leads for any issue related to product manufacturing, test specifications/results, purchase order release, engineering, or quality issues, etc.

  • Develop a robust customer-facing and internal scoring system for all Material Services

  • Plan, organize, and direct the overall Material Services activities to enhance communication and business relationships with all current and future strategic suppliers

  • Aid in the negotiation of optimum material and service contracts

  • Pair and match supplier partners with overall strategy of the business and for the good of the customer

  • Timely and regular interface with all levels of customer management to ensure a thorough and full understanding of the customer’s interests, requirements, and opportunities

  • Build strong customer relationships and customer recognition of the Vexos value proposition for longterm solutions for their manufacturing needs

  • Analyze the market’s potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers, and MS suppliers value to the organization

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Progressive sales and operational experience in electronics manufacturing

  • Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of working with all levels of business leaders (C-level, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering)

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with SalesForce.com or other similar CRM desired

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (engineering or business-related discipline desired)

  • Minimum of 7–10 years experience in electronics industry with a proven track record of sales success and client development

  • Fluency in Mandarin required

 

OTHER

  • This role reports to the Senior VP of Sales & Marketing

  • 40%+ travel will be required; heavy initial travel to China expected

 

LOCATION

  • Candidate may be remotely located, however ideally candidate will be located near Vexos headquarters in Philadelphia, PA area or near one of our North American factory locations in Markham Ontario, Canada or LaGrange, OH.
