Operations Planner, Vexos Markham
SUMMARY
The Operations Planner will plan and develop production schedules based on materials, resource availability, and internal/external priorities. This function will act as a liaison between Program Management, Purchasing, and Production to set priorities and help Vexos exceed customer expectations. The Operations Planner will optimize the monthly / quarterly objectives to help meet the tactical and strategic goals of the business. This position reports to the General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: Preferably Business, Operations Management, Engineering or related disciplines

Detailed working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems

APICS CPIM accreditation/certification is an asset
-
Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) experience is an asset

Demonstrated ability to work effectively at both the strategic and tactical levels
EXPERIENCE
-
A minimum of 3-5 years in an Operations Planning Scheduling Leadership role in Electronics or Manufacturing; preferably in a small to mid-size organization.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively at both the strategic and tactical levels within organizations

Electronics Manufacturing knowledge is an asset

Experience in a high-mix, on-demand EMS production environment is an asset
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
PLANNING
-
Support the manufacturing facility by ensuring material clear to build (CTB) to support customer requirements; Key Metrics: Internal and External On Time Delivery (OTD) and Manufacturing Productivity;

Prepare/Review production reports, projects status updates, and planning reports;

Determine Operational risk factors and provide relevant mitigation plans

Coordinates with Purchasing for availability of materials; Production for capacity;

Identify Planning problems and ensure resolution of issues internally and externally
SCHEDULING
-
Reviews customer demand, customer orders;
-
Review job load requests from Program Management (PM);
-
Confirms job start dates and quantities (partials, job splits etc.);

Tracks Material CTB date to manufacturing job start date ;

Responsible for work center capacity planning ;

Identify Scheduling problems and ensure resolution of issues internally and externally
SYSTEMS
-
Understands MRP/ERP systems and the concepts of planning, scheduling, CTB, which includes Sales Order/Materials/Job planning entry/review, Forecast Planning, and Procurement forecasts ;

Responsible for Production Planning to ensure customer requirements are met in a timely manner;

Identify system problems and ensure resolution of issues internally and externally;
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

First point of contact for Program Management and Production for delivery dates and issues

Communicate between Production, Purchasing and Program Management on any Planning, Scheduling, Delivery commitment issues

Communicates Planning/Scheduling issues as required to key internal functional and business stakeholders that management is clearly informed on all issues.

Ensure OTD on-time delivery for customers is tracked and communicated to the respective groups; Responsible for communications on issues affecting OTD organizationally and implementing the appropriate corrective actions

POSITION LOCATION

The position will be based in Markham, Ontario with occasional travel to the Vexos US manufacturing site in Cleveland Ohio
