Mechanical Assembler - Full-time 6-month Contract 

Days and Afternoon Shifts

SCOPE

Maintain the flow of product through the manual assembly processes of the production.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the flow of product through the Final Assembly & Integration processes production

  • Identify and resolve Process / Equipment / Tools requirements with the Production Supervisor

  • To be trained by Senior mechanical operators on processes such as epoxy application, any gluing process, heat sink application etc.

  • Align, fit and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and templates

  • Install electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies using hand soldering and hand tools

  • Use precision measuring tools or equipment

  • Move products to final QC or the next step in accordance with the priorities set by the Supervisor

  • Verify board assembly prior to wave with the BOM, customer specs and View Station

  • To make sure first off for mechanical is being done completely

  • Ensure all the problems found during the first off inspection have been highlighted to the Supervisor and continue only after the manufacturing engineer has looked at it already

  • Raise issues/concerns with parts, orientation and any other challenges – obtain details and confirm with Supervisor that relevant details have been added to the View Station prior to running the future jobs

  • Verify all processes are performed to the documentation

  • Make sure housekeeping is being done at all stations and is maintained at all times

  • Ensure that each board is being properly scanned through the system, read instructions in the training aid for any quires

  • Always scan board using View Station

  • Bring all scanning related issues to the attention of the Production Supervisor

  • Handle and store materials/boards using ESD guidelines

  • Ensure quality standards are maintained all through the production

  • Position may involve physical demands such as lifting of heavy objects

  • Perform other duties as required

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good knowledge of electronic assemblies including through hole components, drawings and BOMS

  • Knowledge of quality systems and ESD control

  • Electro-mechanical knowledge

  • Experienced in Box assembly as well as test

  • Able to lift at least 30Ibs

  • Good work habits and housekeeping.

  • IPC Standards and ISO 9002: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Mechanical Assembly: 1 year (Preferred)
