Labor Quoting Administrator - Full-time

Permanent Position


The Labor Quoting Administrator will analyze customer documentation in combination with facility production capabilities to generate labor quotes for assembly and test. This position will interact with the Engineering staff and the Quote Coordinator to generate accurate labor times and meet customer proposal deadlines. As a secondary role, this position will be trained to become a proficient SMT Operator and backup programmer for the SMT lines.



  • Analyze customer documentation for product requirements, such as a Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and procedures, for attributes that affect labor that is necessary for assembly

  • Understand facility manufacturing capabilities to assure the design can be successfully assembled while verifying equipment and processing speeds

  • Simulate assembly of box build mechanical assemblies to generate labor times

  • Simulate test process and associated steps to generate labor times

  • Assist the Quote Coordinator in meeting deadlines for completion and submittal of quote proposal to the customer

  • Validate actual labor times of NPI and production against the labor previously quoted

  • Train on SMT machines to become a proficient SMT Operator

  • Support the SMT Engineer with programming, setup, and maintenance of the SMT lines in order to be a backup resource



  • Experience and skills using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

  • Self-starter, a team player, good communication skills, and able to handle multiple tasks smoothly

  • Experience with SMT printer, pick and place machines and reflow ovens is preferred

  • Experience with assembly process evaluation, control and validation, FMEA, SPC, and first article process controls

  • Knowledge of electronic assembly and documentation

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications, GerbTool, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and PC knowledge

  • Knowledge in IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001

  • Familiarity with ISO procedures, experience working in an ISO 9001 electronics manufacturing environment

  • Electronic or Mechanical Technology Degree or equivalent

  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO would be an asset
