HR Generalist - Part-Time 


The HR Generalist will provide human resource support for the US manufacturing site (La Grange, Ohio) through involvement in corporate initiatives, and employee programs. The HR Generalist is a creative, detail and solution-oriented individual with a solid knowledge of human resource and payroll practices. You have outstanding organizational and project management skills and will be responsible for supporting payroll, benefits and recruiting as well; including support and administering of applicable HR policies, and programs.  



Benefits Administration

  • Administers, processes and maintains company benefits programs for the US client group in La Grange

  • Researches, analyzes, evaluates the corporate plans and programs & responds to inquiries from internal & external sources

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures as well as legal requirements



  • Support the Corporate HR team (located in Markham, Ontario Canada) with US payroll functions as required

  • Support the HR and Finance teams in liaison with auditors

  • Performs routine administrative tasks in support of the payroll

  • Familiar with standard US payroll laws and procedures



  • Participate in the full recruitment cycle for designated positions, involving recruiting, screening,

  • Interviewing, reference checks and recommending prospective candidates for employment

  • Draft offers for new employees


Human Resource Policies & Programs

  • Implements coordinates and administers human resource programs policies and procedures

  • Collects and analyzes HR data and makes recommendations

  • Various HR tools including exit interviews and the HR intranet material

  • Human Resources lead for Social Committee and Health and Safety

  • Responds to employee requests and provides advice & coaching as required

  • Develops, participates and supports HR projects


Training & Development

  • Conducts all new hire training related to HR policies & procedures and Health & Safety Office Service


Office Services​

  • Administrator for Concur expense tracking tool for the company



  • 3-5 years of progressive HR or relevant industry experience with the ability to learn HR theory and best practices quickly through remote orientation and training

  • Demonstrated experience with US Benefits and Payroll processing is preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)

  • Exceptional communication skills: verbal, written and presentation

  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning skills to lead operational excellence

  • Progressive and forward-thinking; creative

  • Proven ability to deliver results when working independently

  • Positive work ethic and integrity

  • Proactive; demonstrates time management, planning and organization skills

  • Minimum College or University degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance within compliance legislation and best practices

  • HR designation completion an asset

  • Working towards or completion of a PCP designation an asset

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal, organizational skills, coaching and problem-solving skills with proven leadership capabilities

  • Progressive and forward-thinking, creative

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully and in confidence

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment



  • This role reports to the General Manager of LaGrange, Ohio, and indirectly to the Director of Human Resources, North America remotely

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment or similar industry is an asset
